GATE Score Predictor 2027 Using Response Sheet
Estimate your GATE marks, expected score, qualifying status and indicative All India Rank using your GATE response sheet and the applicable answer key.
What You Can Analyse
Predict Your GATE Score Before the Result
Your response sheet records the responses submitted during the examination. By matching those responses with the applicable answer key, you can estimate your marks before the official GATE result and scorecard are released.
GATE Response Sheet Predictor
Select your paper and enter your expected marks for a quick score estimate. Full response-sheet parsing can be connected to your site's backend parser when the official response format is available.
Keep the original Question IDs and response information unchanged.

This is an indicative prediction only. It is not the official GATE score, rank or scorecard.
What Does the Predictor Analyse?
A response-sheet based analysis starts with the answers recorded for your examination. The responses are compared with the applicable answer key and the marking rules are applied to estimate marks.
How GATE Score Predictor Works
The general workflow is response verification, answer-key matching, marks calculation and score/rank estimation.

GATE Marking Scheme
The following table reflects the published GATE 2026 question pattern. Always verify the applicable GATE 2027 brochure before using the values for an official calculation.
| Question Type | Correct Response | Incorrect Response |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Mark MCQ | +1 | −1/3 |
| 2-Mark MCQ | +2 | −2/3 |
| MSQ | Full marks when all correct options are selected without an incorrect option | No negative marking |
| NAT | Full marks when the numerical response falls within the applicable answer range | No negative marking |
GATE Marks vs GATE Score
GATE marks are the marks obtained in the examination after applying the applicable evaluation rules. GATE score is a separate standardized score calculated using the official score methodology.
Therefore, a candidate should not treat expected marks and expected GATE score as identical numbers.
GATE Score vs GATE Rank
GATE score is a standardized score, whereas All India Rank is a relative position among candidates appearing for the relevant paper.
An estimated rank can change as more candidate-performance data becomes available. The official result should always be treated as final.
Latest Published Official GATE Score Methodology
The GATE 2026 Information Brochure published the following score-calculation framework. This is presented as the latest published reference methodology and should not be treated as a confirmed GATE 2027 formula unless the GATE 2027 authorities publish the same parameters.
- M = marks obtained by the candidate; raw marks for a single-session paper and normalized marks where applicable for a multi-session paper.
- Mq = General-category qualifying marks for the paper.
- M̄t = mean marks of the top 0.1% or top 10 candidates, whichever is larger.
- Sq = 350.
- St = 900.
GATE Qualifying Marks
How Qualifying Marks Are Determined
In the published GATE 2026 methodology, the General category qualifying mark for a paper was determined from the mean and standard deviation of marks, subject to the specified minimum and maximum limits.
Category-wise Qualification
The official GATE rules specify category-wise qualifying marks. For GATE 2026, OBC-NCL/EWS qualifying marks were 90% of the General-category qualifying mark, while SC/ST/PwD qualifying marks were two-thirds of the General-category qualifying mark.
The applicable GATE 2027 qualifying-mark rules should be checked against the official GATE 2027 documentation.
What You Can Check From Your Response Sheet
GATE Response Sheet
The candidate response sheet contains the responses recorded during the computer-based examination. Candidates can use it with the applicable Master Question Paper and Answer Key to verify their expected performance.
The official GATE 2026 answer-key page specifically instructed candidates to refer to the Master Question Paper and associated Answer Key because the order of questions and options on the candidate console may differ.
GATE Answer Key
The answer key identifies the correct answers used for evaluation. For MCQs, one option is correct. For MSQs, all correct options must be selected without selecting an incorrect option to receive full marks. NAT responses must fall within the applicable answer range.
Answer-key challenges and subsequent final answers can affect the expected marks calculation.
GATE 2027 Test Papers
The official GATE 2027 website lists 30 test papers. The paper selection shown below reflects the current published GATE 2027 paper list.
GATE Score Predictor FAQs
What is a GATE Score Predictor?
A GATE Score Predictor estimates expected marks and score from candidate responses, the applicable answer key and the published GATE marking and scoring methodology.
Can I calculate GATE marks using my response sheet?
Yes. You can compare the responses recorded in your response sheet with the applicable answer key and apply the GATE marking scheme to estimate your marks.
Is the predicted GATE score official?
No. A CheckGATERank prediction is an estimate for analysis and planning. The official GATE result, score and scorecard issued by the GATE authorities are final.
Does GATE have negative marking?
Under the published GATE 2026 pattern, wrong MCQ answers carry negative marking: one-third for a 1-mark MCQ and two-thirds for a 2-mark MCQ. MSQ and NAT questions do not have negative marking.
Is GATE score the same as GATE marks?
No. GATE marks are calculated from examination responses, while GATE score is calculated using the official score methodology and applicable qualifying/top-performer parameters.
Can the predicted rank change?
Yes. An estimated AIR is a relative prediction. It can change as more candidate-performance data becomes available and as final answer-key or official evaluation information is incorporated.
When is the GATE response sheet released?
The response information is released through the official GATE examination system after the examination. Release dates vary by examination year.
Can I use the predicted score for admission?
Use the prediction for planning only. Admission is subject to the eligibility and selection criteria of the respective admitting institute. A prediction should not be used as a substitute for the official GATE scorecard.
How accurate is a GATE score predictor?
Accuracy depends on the response data, applicable answer key, marking rules, normalization where applicable and comparative candidate data. Therefore, every predicted score or rank should be treated as indicative.
Check Your Expected GATE Score
Use your GATE response sheet to understand your expected marks and performance before the official result. Check your expected score, qualifying status and indicative rank for planning your next step.
